Enjoying the quotes? Here are a few more plants lover quotes:

#11 “A garden is a complex of aesthetic and plastic intentions; and the plant is, to a landscape artist, not only a plant – rare, unusual, ordinary or doomed to disappearance – but it is also a color, a shape, a volume or an arabesque in itself.” — Roberto Burle Marx

#12 “The enduring happiness that the love of a garden gives” — Gertrude Jekyll

#13 “ I love being in my garden. I don’t plant a lot of exotic flora, but I do spend a lot of time outside doing manual labor.” — Jacqueline Bisset

#15 “When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don’t blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun.

You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have problems with our friends or our family, we blame the other person.

But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does try to persuade using reason and argument.

That is my experience. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change.” — Ven Thich Nhat Hanh

#21 “For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.” — Martin Luther

#22 “No single sort of garden suits everyone. Shut your eyes and dream of the garden you’d most love then open your eyes and start planting. Loved gardens flourish, boring ones are hard work.” — Jackie French

#23 “God Almighty first planted a garden. And indeed, it is the purest of human pleasures.” — Francis Bacon

Wrapping It Up

Let’s admit it, we all have a love-hate relationship with our plants. We love them for the countless positives that they bring. But there are, albeit rare, occasions where they are a bit troublesome. You’ll learn that green is not always right, mushrooms are not always nice, and most of all, that the perfect setup does not equate to the perfect plant.

I think this can be applied to any relationship as well (don’t quote me on this haha!). You love them wholeheartedly, but there are some instances where they drive you up the wall. No relationship is perfect after all, but there are certain conditions that make it last longer.

So dear reader, remember that you’ll probably make mistakes, but your love for your plant is the strongest thing that’s keeping it alive!
